Greetings,
I have a W2K server and a XP Pro PC with static IP and
DNS addresses. Logging into the server takes several
minutes. MS has released a hotfix for this problem until
SP2 is released for XP. However, I'm confused about DNS
settings for the XP PC and server.
Since XP needs DNS to find the server, do I add the W2K
server's address to my DNS entries on the XP PC along
with my ISPs addresses?
The IPS DNS addresses have to go back on the server so I
can get updates from the web. Will these addresses cause
a problem with DNS on the server when my XP PC tries to
find it? Not sure where to go with this.
