For the Linux DNS registration question, there a few things that must be set
properly to work:
1. On a WIndows machine, the Primary DNS Suffix is set to the zone name you
want to regsiter into in DNS.
2. The IP in it's DNS entry must be either ONLY the internal server or
servers, if more than one, that host the zone name. If using an ISP's,
unkown results with registration and AD functionality will occur.

For Linux, I believe the DNS suffix for the connection is the name you have
to set in ifconfig (if I remember right).

As for IPV6, I would assume both the client and the DNS server would both
need IPV6 installed. I haven't tested it yet. Here is the step by step guide
to set it up:

If you got the script to work for the Linux clients, that is good.

I forgot to mention one thing, Linux does NOT support DNS dynamic updates.
The only way you can force a Linux machine to update is to make it a DHCP
client using a Microsoft DHCP server and in the DHCP server properties, you
have it set to update any clients into DNS regardless whether the client has
the capability to ask for it or not. Static configured Linux clients do not
support updates.

As for IPv6, as I mentioned, unfortunately I have not tested with it yet,
and unable to assist at this time. If the doc file I posted did not help,
maybe someone else reading this post can assist you.
