I have a ISDN Router. It connects to the internet
freuently. nd it it a DNS call. How can I disabel or
adjust the timer for theese DNS calls for Win2000 an Win
XP ??

Make sure no machines have an external domain listed in the search order
list on the DNS tab.
If there are any names in the list that does not have a zone in your local
DNS your local DNS will either use its forwarders or Root hints to resolve
the name.
You can see DNS do this if you run nslookup with the set d2 option.

Here's a repost from someone else asking the same thing last week that I
responded to:

Instant Messaging running somewhere on the network.
That's usually the culprit. Maybe even adware programs running in the
background. Run Adware 6.0 to eliminate them. Email opened up checking ISP
mail in the background. Open browsers over night with ad pages constantly
updating. Weatherbug and other similar stuff running by your users
unknowingly. How about Kazaa?
