DMA not an option for second IDE

Why would DMA be an option for the primary IDE, but not for the secondary
IDE (device manger, advanced tab for IDE properties).

I only have a 180Gb HD on the primary, but have 80Gb HD and DVD-RW (slave)
on the 2ndary ... both of which should be DMA suitable.

Could this be at all related to the fact I have ~6 unknown
devices (yellow '!') in my device list? I cannot find an
associated INF for these to save my life (i.e., no
associated INF can be found on any of my hardwares'
installation CDs)

ASUS p4PE mobo w/ Intel 845 chipset (Application
Accelerator installed once, but now disabled).
