Hi

Ive just installed XP Home on my P4B, but I don't think it's recognizing the
disk's DMA because I'm not getting the Advanced Settings tab on the
Primary/Secondary IDE Channel properties. What's more, Need For Speed Hot
Pursuit 2 runs really poorly (freezes during gameplay, it seems when it
goes to the CDROM).

I installed the chipset driver and Intel Application Accellerator right
after installing XP. Is there something else I need to do?

It all worked so well under Windows 98.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Uninstall the IAA, this'll get you the advanced tabs back.

Thanks Stephan, I played with installing and uninstalling the IAA, and the
system seems to work better without (Need For Speed definitely doesn't like
it).

It turns out that XP had set CDROM drive to PIO (wonder why). When I changed
it to DMA, everything ran much better.

Thanks for the hint.
