that were infected. My windows XP CD D:\SEUP also
missing, therefore cannot reboot from it. Please help

If I were you I would do a system restore. There are too
many if's and unknowns. I would restore to a point when
your PC was working great. You won't lose files but any
newly installed application will have to be re-installed.

You can also try the following before the restore to see
if it gives you any success.

Go to the run command and type the following: msconfig

When the system configuration tool opens under
the "general" tab, choose "selective startup" and then
uncheck the "load startup items". Hit the apply button
and reboot.

This will only load required Windows system files when
your system reboots and exclude every other program that
you have installed on your PC. This will at least rule
out a Windows problem and point you to an installed
application that is causing this issue.

Good luck.

Disregard my previous response. I have come across some
of your other messages and now know you cannot do a
system restore.

In order to get the CD rom to boot you will have to
intervene during the boot process and point the bootup to
the CD rom. All bios are different, it could be the
escape key, delete key, tab key, F8 key but one of these
while the system is booting in the very beginning will
get you into either the bios or windows safety mode
utility in which you can choose to boot from the CD rom.
It is from here that your will be able to access the
repair files on you XP CD.

Good luck.
