If you are having problems with Macbook Pro connecting to a Dlink DSL-2642B modem you must upgrade the firmware to 2.10 or higher.
This problem is that when ever you connect to the modem using a Mac Pro it locks up the IP addresses. But the updated firmware fixes this issue.

Note: You MUST use Internet Explorer to do this for some reason it will not upgrade the firmware using Chrome or Safari.
