All usenet binaries need decoding. Unfortunately OE has still not
woken up to the yEnc encoding format which is substantially more
efficient than the UUE, which OE can transparently decode.
There are many ways in which you can decode the posts, either on the
fly with an OE add on (fidolook?), or using a proxy like yproxy -
there is still a freeware build about somewhere - or by using an
external decoder like yDec.
I'm posting over several days to give those on dial up a chance at the
iso. By the same token, I am trying to keep the download size as small
as possible. My guess is that posting in yEnc will be saving a bit
over 100MB in encoding overheads.
If you are wanting to get the iso from abf and need help, don't be
afraid to ask - I can't help you with the OE specific stuff but there
should be plenty here who can
