Divide 2 distribution lists into 3

I'm using Outlook 2003 and one of my distribution lists exceeds the allowable
amount so I need to divide the 2 lists into 3. How do I copy parts of an
existing lists to a new list? I do not want to use categories.
 
R click and drag to create a copy of the DL. Then remove the Contacts you
want to from each copy.
 
I would really like to copy specific entries from one list into a new list.
Can that be done?

Nope. The way to split DLs is as Russ states.
