Distribution list

I have tried exporting contacts from Outlook 2002 and importing into 2003 but
the distribution list I have contains no members after the import. It looks
fine from where I am exporting it from.

I have also tried just dragging and copying the distribution contact/list to
media and then dragging/copying into Outlook 2003 but again, comtains no
members.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Yes.
You are importing and exporting. Why?
DL's are among a host of data that are lost when you import and export.
Just copy and reuse the Outlook data file if you don't want to lose data.

I have a new laptop and I accidently deleted the DL. I do not want to copy
the data files over because I will lose any new info I have received.

Unless I can move the new data files, copy over the old then import the
newer data?

First, I would assume you back up your data regularly.
I don't understand your statement.
Why would copying your old Outlook data file lose any of the data in your
current file? You'd never use it to overwrite your current file. You would
just open it in Outlook and copy what you want from it. Importing and
exporting are what you use to convert to other file formats, not for
transferring from one PST file to another.
