Distribution List to folder

I have a personal distribution list emailed to me by a coworker and I want to
turn the list into a folder so I can import it into a particular program.
How do I do this? The contacts themselves do no appear in the contact list -
just the distribution list.

A DL is a list of names and electronic addresses. Nothing more. Just what
did you want to create from this list? What do you mean by "folder?"

We have an application separate from Outlook that will import our contacts
from Outlook, but will not directly read or use Outlook contacts or a
distribution list directly.

It will import from a folder, but will not import from Distribution lists.

To answer your second question, by folder, I mean when in contacts view, file
menu | New | Folder

I already answered your question. So did you. DL's contain no Contact data.
If you want to try to create Contacts out of the information contained in a
DL, you would need to save it as a text file, convert it to a CSV file, then
import that CSV file into a Contact Folder.
