I am using Outlook 2003. I have added contact names and email addresses to
my Contact list. I then added those names to a new Distribution list and
saved that list. Then I created an email and selected that Distribution list
in the To box. I created the rest of my email which was just text and then
sent the email. The problem is it was not received by anyone on the
distribution list. Can you tell me why?

Hi D Pfaff,

maybe the first e-mail-address is not valid.

A DL stop sending the rest of the DL if you get a wrong e-mail address in
the DL.

I would use the "serial mail" function with Outlook and word, and pu you
email address in the "To" fiedl and all others in the "BCC" field.

"How to use mail merge to create e-mail messages in Word"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294694/en-us

Maybe it helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. I put my work email address in the To box and the
DL in the CC box but still with no success. I didn't even get the email sent
to work email in the To box. Any other ideas?

What type of account? Did the message move to Sent Items?

Brian, yes the message moved to sent items. The account is a personal
account at Comcast.net. The funny thing is I just tried resending the same
message except I selected each of the names from my Contact List instead of
using the DL and the email shows up in my Sent Items but did not go out. I
know this because my work email is on the DL and I included it in my
selection of the individual names from the CL. Any thoughts?

D Pfaff,
Since you mentioned this is a personal account with Comcast, how large is
your Distribution List. Comcast does have a limit of the # of recipients an
email can have per message. I believe the recipient number is 100 per
message for Comcast, but I am not sure. You may need to break up the
original list into several smaller lists, and send the message, after saving
the message first on your PC, multiple times, using the "new" lists.
