Having killed about 2 days on this, I have yet to see
anything work as advertised. I can't get my hands on
dotnetfx.exe directly. The .NET Framework installation
program run from the Microsoft Windows Update Center
runs "successfully," but does not install the framework on
an NT machine. The "bootstrapper" sample appears to do
nothing and does not come with sample code as advertised.
I also can't find the mscroee.dll on my .NET development
machine so I can at least register it on my target machine
in order to try to get a hello_world.exe to run. What in
the heck goes on here? And while we're at it, how come
entering a query in any of these newsgroups never returns
anything? I am a newbie here and realize I've probably
missed some simple stuff. If someone can point me in a
direction, I'd be much obliged.
