MS Publisher has a 'Distributed' text alignment option when formating a
paragraph. This is subtly different to 'Justified' and more attractive. Is it
possible to do this in Word?

In Word, justified text looks better if you enable the "Do full
justification the way WordPerfect 6.x for Windows does" compatibility
option.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I cannot find this option. : (

It is probably right in front of me. I have looked in Options under the
Office button and in the Paragraph formating dialogue box.

FOUND IT..

Haha!

For fuure reverence this option is right at the bottom of the Advanced tab
in Word Options. You have to expand the very last entry, marked 'Layout
Options'

Thanks again.
