Need help/advise. Company just "upgrade" my box OS from
NT to XP. Other than a new hard drive no hardware was
replaced. Now the video display on my monitor is out of
focus all across the monitor. "Technician" informs me
that the issue is XP's "lack of option to select 64K true
color" Sounds like a load of BS to me. Any ideas would
be appreciated.

Hi Scott,
Not sure what your problem is, but the Tech's comment is total crap.
Check that you have the correct sync mode for the monitor. Start at 60 and
work up.
Also get new XP drivers for your graphics card. If all else fails and you
are sure your monitor is ok,
get a new up to date graphics card.
Sorry I can't be of more help, all I can say is that there is no problem
with XP in the graphics department.

RichardG - thanks. I'll give it a try. If all else
fails - I'll get them to move me bacl to NT.

Scott,
I wouldn't go back to NT if I was you. Once you get the video sorted out, I
think you will be very pleased with XP.

RichardG,
Sorry, been away a while. I've looked at similiar boxes
(Dell 240) Problem appears to be the way MS XP handles
the write to video. Monitor setting are 1024/768, 32bit.
Tried different fonts (Times new Roman, Arial) with no
success in eliminating the fuzzy appearance on the
screen. It bothersome to my eyes. NT doesn't have this
problem. I totally vexed and the tech is getting annoyed.

I'm out of ideas other than NT or Linux.
