distorted images

All of my web-based images are distorted and pixely. When
I right-click on an image I get a "Display Image With Full
Quality" option. When I click on it, the image resets
itself and looks normal. is there some sort of setting so
that the iomages will automatically always look normal to
begin with?

What resolution is being used. Control Panel|DISPLAY|SETTINGS. Try 1024
X 768 at 32 bit color (or at least 16 bit color).
