I just installed Windows XP, which I have had before, and
now the top corners of the screen are distorted, and it
distorts everything that comes near them.
I have already tried changing to resolution, and the only
resolution number that gets the corners closest to
looking normal is the last one, which is way too small
for me.
Is there possibly another way to get rid of this? Someone
please help if you can.

Visit the support website of the manufacturer of your video card,
search for Windows XP drivers, download and install them. Once
this is accomplished, the Standby button will become enabled.

If you have a notebook PC, then visit the notebook manufacturer's
support website and download the Windows XP video adapter drivers.

your screen has some controls on it that you adjust the size and shape of
the image displayed.
Its nothing about windows. Choose the resolution you want and a refresh rate
of about 85 (at least) from within windows and
then try configuring the monitor via its controls.
If you dont know how to use the buttons on the monitor read the monitors
manual, if you dont have it go to the monitors site and
download the manual from there.
