Dissappering EXE Files

when i download an exe file, it dissapears. This didn't happen until i
installed Defender Beta 2. I tried saving the file to the desktop. Anyone
know why this is happening?
 
Yes--you've hit a bug in beta2, Windows Defender.

If you are willing, it would help if you drop an email note to Mike Treit,
of Microsoft:

mtreit @ microsoft.com
(leave out the spaces)

Just forward a message like what you've posted here. He may wish to collect
some information from your machine, that would help prevent this in the
future.
