Hi-All
I followed the instruct on 'drag & drop the News into the
Go tool bar menu'. It goes there initially, then
disappears for good! I have looked for it, everywhere, re-
installed, detect&repair(still no where to be seen-not
where it was, not in original location). My request(s) to
the Microsoft feedback appearantly do not merrit response.

The same thing happened to me yesterday, but it's really no big deal since
all it did was act as a shortcut to launching Outlook Express - which I can
do without any help from Outlook!

Note, Outlook is not a news reader. It always invokes OE.
To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab
in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to
Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next
time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then
click the No
button.

You may need to reset the Menu Bar and/or restart Outlook
and/or reboot your
machine in order to complete the process. Not everyone is
reporting success
with this method, but try it and see what happens. If all
else fails, you
can always create a desktop shortcut to Outlook Express
and include the
/outnews switch -- that gives you the same result as
accessing the
newsreader via the News command in Outlook.

I recently upgraded to XP and Office2003.
Iwant to use outlook as my newsgroup user. I followed
the instructions
about
placing the option under the "Go" menu. It worked for a
while but it now
no
longer shows under the full "Go" menu nor is it available under the
customise buttons if I try to repeat the process. Newsgroups work fine on
Outlook Express event though it is not configured as the
default reader.
