Can anyone tell me how to get Outlook Express to display
plain text messages correctly?
When I try to read email messages that were sent as plain
text, the formatting is garbled to the point that they are
almost unreadable.
It looks as if, even though the message is plain text, it
has been fed through an HTML parser which has, of course,
not preserved the formatting represented by white space
etc.
In particular, tab characters are not expanded correctly.
Can't Outlook Express just display plain text *as* plain
text with a fixed width font and sensible tab stops?
If it insists on treating everything as if it were HTML
why doesn't it just wrap plain text inside <pre> </pre>
before feeding it to the parser?
