Displaying pictures in sequence

In a slide show based on photos with captions, Windows XP displays the photos
alphabetically (based on the captions), ignoring the order in which they were
saved. How can I force Windows to display the photos in the oder in which
they were organized, instead of alphabetically?
 
I have found that it pays to number the photographs as a precursor to the
titles, this lets me set the order. I number them from 0001 upwards so have
no problem with tens and hundreds.

The other thing you could try is go to "View" then "Arrange icons by" and
see if one of the options will meet your requirements.
