When trying to view .pdf files in the browser I get a
page cannot be displayed error message. Is there a
setting or settings that need to be adjusted to make this
possible?

Displaying pdf files requires of course adobe acrobat reader, but it
requires also that you haven't disabled activex controls from internet
options -> security -> internet -> custom zone. I'm not sure whic of those
activex related settings need to be enabled, but you can try yourself.

I adjusted the security setting, enabling anything that
had to do with ActiveX and setting level to "low", but I
still get the same result. Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem that you do, and tried Smile
Extender's suggestion even before I posted. Did not fix it
for me. Are we the only ones with this problem?
