Displaying OS version on desktop

A long time ago I found and enabled an option that displays "Windows XP Home
Edition, Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 (Service Pack 1)" at the lower
right-hand corner of my screen, just above the System Tray. I would now like
to reverse that selection and dismiss the notice but I cannot find where the
selection is made. TIA for assistance.
 
Set PaintDesktopVersion to 0

Download and install Tweak UI for Windows XP. It has the setting for
what you want to do.
