When I start up Explorer how do I get the links toolbar to
automatically display. Currently only the address and
standard button show up at startup. My computer use to do
this but I think my dear little ones changed a setting
somewhere.

Another thing I having a problem with is when I open
explorer a search window automatically opens on the left.
How do I get it to quit doing this?

Goto View, Toolbars, click to enable Links. Also, click Lock the Toolbars
to enable as well.

Click on the X to close the search window and close the browser. Reopen
again and it should remember the state that it was in before it was closed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know how to do what you said
but if the computer is shut down then restarted then it
reverts back to no links bar until I turn it on. Is there
anyway to keep it as a default setting?

You're welcome. Personally, I haven't encountered this myself.
Somebody else out there want to pick up the ball on this?

The only other suggestion I would have is to uninstall/reinstall IE.
Sorry I can't help any more on this. :(

Have you also checked the option to lock the toolbar after checking
Links?
