It looks daunting but I found it pretty easy to use. The only problem
was finding the right format to use for the DVD player.
FWIW - I don't think I'd want try converting 2000 JPGs on my computer
(WIN98, 128 MB RAM). I experimented with a much smaller number and it
took a quite a while to convert them.
The program is *much* faster on the "kids" machine (which is newer than
mine). I can't remember if my daughter-in-law has completely filled a CD
but I know she has put *many* images on one. IIRC creating a CD takes
about an hour on their machine.
You might want to work with just a few photos at first and a rewritable
CD if you have one available. Quicker results that way while you're in
the experimental stage. . .

One quick query please: if a
App's should be *some* kind of free. . . to the best of my knowledge
and belief. . . The pages are a work in progress. The "Ware" column
is where Freeware, Liteware, Donationware etc. is noted - blanks spaces
just mean I still lack that information. . .
See the bottom of the web pages for an explanation of the various
columns and abbreviations:

If you're still around, Susan, could I ask for a little more help
please...? Or from any other user of VCDEasy.
I successfully made my first VCD, thanks largely to your reassurance
above. But that included only 31 images, so I'm now trying a more
realistic one with 600 or so.
As I compose this, the program appears to be slowly doing its stuff
creating these mpg stills, although I didn't consciously click
Generate. Or is it merely 'assembling' the input files, I wonder? (I'm
loathe to take a look in the output Folder with Explorer, as I recall
seeing some warning about not doing so.)
But I'm not at all confident about whether these will *fit* on my CD?
I saw no advice on this in the tutorial. The only reference was that
the author said he/she always used the 'Max quality' setting. So I did
so too on my first trial, but that appeared to use 12MB per image. If
so, at say 600 MB, I'd get only 50 images. Surely that can't be true?
But if my logic *is* correct, presumably I must drastically reduce the
size of each mpg? Is there no estimate of capacity versus size within
the program or its documentation? Or is trial and error the name of
the game?
What about a menu? The author mentioned the word fleetingly, but so
far I've seen no way of creating one. I'd assumed I could do so, and
then select a folder and image, rather than displaying every image in
sequence.
Finally, are you able on your DVD player to bypass the preset fixed
time (10 secs or whatever), so that you can quickly flick forward or
backward? In theory it seems you use the Previous and Next settings,
but my Phillips player remote doesn't appear to have those!
Thanks for your help.
