I want to make a PowerPoint presentation that allows me to present a web site by actually using the site via PowerPoint. I would run Apache and MySQL servers locally; the web pages are PHP files and are also local. I have two screens - a laptop computer with an external monitor attached to it - so that I can have the external monitor show the presentation while I see the "Presenter View" on the laptop's screen

I know how to make an object that has a 'localhost' URL for a link, but that just invokes the web browser, which I can't control from the laptop screen. I wan't to have a normal presentation, controlled from the "Presenter View" on the laptop and shown on the primary monitor to the audience

Is this possible?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality natively and, instead requires
the use of an ActiveX control that is already on your system as part of
Windows. It can be done manually or facilitated by the use of an add-in (as
indicated by both Steve and Echo).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality natively (not require an
ActiveX control or an add-in), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR
OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
