Is there any way to display the date on the bar at the
bottom of the desktop, next to the time? If so, could
you please explain how to do that?

You can right click on the tool bar, then unlock it. Then you can drag the
top of the tool bar up. The day and date will then be displayer, as well as
the time.

Right click taskbar, click properties, go to notification area and check
mark "show clock on taskbar", then if you hover the mouse over the
clock, it will show date and time.

That works on Win9x, but unfortunately there's a bug in all versions
of WinXP which prevents it from working reliably. Usually it will work
for a while after the system first boots, but then it will fail to
respond when you hover the cursor over the clock. Clicking once on the
clock will usually show the tooltip for a different system tray icon.
Tooltips for all the other system tray icons continue to work
correctly, so it seems to be a bug in the clock program. Maybe MS will
fix it in SP2.
