Hope somebody has a solution, suggestion.
Using WINxp Home SP2.
Have been having a problem booting the computer after it has been shutdown
for a long time,
ie, overnight.
When I turn on the monitor, computer it doesn't show the display on the
monitor screen
I need to turn off the monitor, computer sometimes more then once then the
BIOS displays and
then windows etc. If I should turn off the computer, monitor after it's been
on any length of
time the display screen will appear immediately.
Thought it might be a fault of the monitor I sent it to Viewsonic since it's
under warranty,
now I am using a spare viewsonic LCD monitor, other monitor also LCD,
larger.
Now I discovered a wrinkle. Seems If I just momentarily push the on button
on the computer
the display appears instantly.Does the amount of pressure on the on button
have an effect
of the display, or should I suspect the on button switch or may be the video
card.
Using ATI Radeon 9600.
Driving me nuts, suggestions, comments
Thank you.
