When booting up Windows XP THe Windows Logo appears 2/3 up the screen - the
Welcome logo when it appears is okay If I put the computer into Safe Mode
the Safe Mode desktop is displayed 2/3rds up the screen i.e. the upper 1/3
being off screen and unreadable and the lower 1/3 of the screen blank. This
also appears if I put MSN into full screen when having a video conversation
otherwise my display is as normal - any solutions

Sounds like a monitor issue. If it is a newish monitor, try having it
auto-adjust for the resolution that you are having problems with. For
instance I have a Viewsonic VG900b monitor. If I push the "2" button it
auto-adjusts for the current resolution and centers everything for me.
It remembers different settings for various resolutions and refresh
frequencies.

If this isn't the issue then I'd bring up MSN into full screen to
exhibit the problem and then go to the Display control panel and go to
Settings->Advanced->Monitor and make sure that the correct monitor model
is listed (or Plug and Play) and choose some different Refresh
Frequencies to see if they make a change for the better.

Good luck,

Steve
