I want to know how to display System info in the desktop..

IP address, machine name, etc...

thanks....

to display your ip address open command prompt and type ipconfig.

to display system info right click 'My Computer' > Properties.

Use at your own risk!
To replace the text shown below the "My Computer" icon on the desktop; you
can run regedt32.exe, and navigate to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
1.) delete the <noname> Reg_Sz string value
2.) Edit|Add Value, leave the "Value Name:" blank
3.) Data Type: = Reg_Expand_Sz
4.) OK
5.) String: = %username%
or
String: = User: %username% on: %computername%
or some other variation.
