I am trying to figure out a way to change the user name that is displayed on
the XP start menu to the machine name for the entire company.

I know you can change it to whatever buy going to Start\Control Panel\User
accounts and renaming there but I need a way to do this via script or other
automated way. I can't tell my tech's they ahve to touch all 3500 pc's.

Any thoughts?

No
The logon name will still be the same I just want to display the computer
name in the XP start menu in place of the User name if possible. Thanks for
the reply.

Yea we are just trying to stay away from that if we can help it along with
not using the re-named desktop icon. The Start Menu is populated from the
Display Name section of the user account. Unfortunatly you cant use a system
variable in there (not that i would want to). Thanks again for the reply.
