Display Text vs bound column

Access2003: Table field is a lookup and the bound column is a number.

Displaying in the table (and queries of this table) is the unbound text.
Which is very convenient as the bound number is abstract.

But when I generate a Report using Report Wizard and this column is used as
a header - it now displays the bound column. unfortunately.

Is there a way in Reports control property to change this to display the
text?...or do I need to go back into the underlying query and now add the
text field as well....

It's almost a bit of a tease that it will display the text as you work along
and then suddenly reverts to the bound column number.......
 
kind of an inherited situation....

have modified the source query to add the fields with the text values and
inserted into the report.....

but is a good reminder of the lookup field's weakness should I ever be
tempted to create in the future.....
