Display Settings

My display settings are off. Everything is way to large. I cannot fix it by
going to properties or the display/settings menu. I can change the settings,
but cannot apply them. How do I fix this?

My husband tried that, and it did nothing! We just reinstalled XP and it
changed like 5 minutes later for no reason.

You reinstalled winxp, but how, a clean installation or a repair
installation?

If clean did you then install the drivers for your system, either from disks
supplied or from your OEM site if Dell/HP etc or a Laptop, or did you rely
on winupdate, which is a bad move.
Install the proper drivers for your sys

When you go to display settings, will the screen resolution switch slide to
the right? If not, you do not have the correct display driver installed.

Reinstalled XP will require these to be correctly installed:

1) Motherboard chipset drivers
2) Video card drivers
3) Monitor drivers

so that the resolution can be correctly set.

Also, you will need to install all "other" updated drivers and a good
anti-virus software.
