This is not a problem I've had on any of the previous version of Vista.
Everything I reboot or an application changes the resolution my display
settings are set back to 1600x1200. I have an nVidia 7900 GTX with a
ViewSonic Graphics Series G90fb and I run my display at 1920x1440 @ 60 Hz.
It's as if Windows doesn't recognize anything above the default of 1600x1200
(for example the screen savers mode switch to 1600x1200 thus when I wake the
computer out of the screensaver the OS is back to 1600x1200.) I find this
to be really annoying. This works fine on my Windows XP installation and as
I mentioned above has worked on all previous builds of Vista (from beta2 -
5472.)
Mind you this happens with the latest version of nVidia's driver for RC1
(96.33) and rolling back to the original Windows display drivers.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do to prevent this or fix the issue?
Thanks!
