when my computer returns from sleep the display settings are changed and the
screen does not fully fit the monitor. I can go change it at display
settings but its a hassle everytime.

nope that does not apply. It seems that after the display is turned off and
then restarted it switches to the wrong pixel setting.

Newkirk,

Perhaps it's something as simple as the video card driver needing updating?
Did this problem start after some particular change made to your system?
After some hardware added? or some other update? Just some thoughts,
because these issues can be hard to identify. For example, if the problem
started after updating the video card drivers, then falling back to the
previous driver could fix the issue.

I bought the computer a week ago. So everything is up to date. I unistalled
the drived and reinstalled, still nothing...

Newkirk,

Have you tried downloading and installing all the updates available on the
Microsoft update site? If your problem persists, take the computer back to
the vendor who sold it to you, since it's new, still under warranty, and
doesn't work properly. Just some thoughts.

Lot of us experienced the same thing.I am one of those. There are so many
advices from other users, but none of those worked-out.Here is the simplest
solution.Point your cursor on the screen and right click, click on view, choose
classic icons. Then right click on screen again, click on Personalize, click
display settings ---drag the Resolution bar to the high, click OK/Apply and
restart. If icons appeared too small, change them to medium.
