Just curious;
Winxp updated, Apps updated, a fresh installation, but occurred on previous
installation also
2gb Corsair dual memory (2*1) Geoforce 8600GT, Athlon 64 3800+, oodles of
free space, Sata drives
Memory & drives tested, no Event err's
Updated manufacturers drivers installed, office type apps, no games - boring
:(
System has run 24/7 since Jan 07 without issues, except this, and a PSU
failure
Open a window from an app, eg Word or a new mail msg when Outlook isnt
running, the window isnt fully rendered for several secs, eg ribbon not
visible. Happens also to none office 2007 apps.
Or move a window across another window, the part that was overlapping (Lower
window) isnt re rendered for several secs
Any thoughts?

Is this the video driver that you are using?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_190.38_whql.html

You didn't mention your mainboard make and model, do you have the latest
chipset drivers?

Hello,

The application is waiting for some other process to end before it can
continue. It will be hard to diagnose this, but some possible events that
are causing this are

1) you insert a CD, this creates a event that can temporarily freezes the
system until the drive reads the basic cd info

2) network information is being sent when the software queries the network
drives or FTP drive, so the software stalls while waiting for the network
responses to arrive
