Every day I have to change to Windows XP style from the
classic view. I go to display prop. - appearance- to
windows xp default blue- large fonts, hit the apply key,
then the OK key and it changes OK. When I turn on my
computer next day, or the next time after shutting down,
the BLUE BOX appears with PLEASE WAIT inside and my
screen and system changes back to window classic. what
else do I have to do to keep that from Happening? Thank
you very much for any suggestions. Mike Dean

Classic Start Menu

If you've been used to previous versions of Windows, you'll notice some big changes
when you click the Start button. If you like the new layout, then great. But if you
don't, feel free to go back to the familiar. Right click the Start button (or a blank
area of the Start menu) and select Properties. On the Start Menu tab of the Taskbar
and Start Menu Properties dialog box, select Classic Start Menu, then click OK.

Classic Start Menu - Force Use

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer. Value
Name: NoSimpleStartMenu, Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value), Value Data: (1 = force
classic menu, 0 = default). Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value,
called 'NoSimpleStartMenu' and edit the value according to the settings below. Exit
your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take
effect.

Both edits can be downloaded from here:

Hope this helps. Let us know.
