display properties/missing desktop

when I go to control panel and open up display properties, I'm missing the
desktop section. Needless to say I can't change my desktop back ground very
well

HELP!

1. The Desktop tab does not appear in the Display Properties dialog box in
Windows XP

2. Restore Desktop Display Properties:-
Line 285 Right hand side - restore display tabs.

3. Or you could try:

Start>Run, and type:
regsvr32 /i shell32
regsvr32 themeui

Pressing OK after each line (or hit Enter)

Reboot the computer.
