Windows XP Installed. After Windows XP intro screen,
while at the user log in screen, video quality is at the
lowest possible in all aspects. After logging on, a
balloon comes up from the task bar and states that the
video settings are extremely low quality....do you want
windows to correct this? If so click here. Next pop up
asks "do you want windows to apply this correction without
restarting computer?" Yes. Settings remain
poor. "Restart" (warm boot) computer and the settings take
affect. Shut off the computer (windows is saving your
settings pops up...good thing?). Turn on the computer and
the problem starts all over again.
Points to note: If I go into the display settings arena
with poor settings, I cannot change a thing from the
lowest settings. The display adapter shows as NVIDIA 100
only. If I go there after Windows fixes the problem and a
reboot for the fix to occur, I can change everything. The
display adapter shows as NVIDIA 100/200.
Monitor is about 1998 vintage and ran on a Windows 95
System prior to plugging into this machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
