Display problems with monitor

Last night I installed Windows XP. After the computer
rebooted the display is not covering the screen area like
it is supposed to.

The vertical is too tall, so I cannot read what is on the
top of the screen or on the bottom (i.e. the task bar).

The horizontal is short on the right side by about an
inch. It just shows a black area.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for your help.

Adjusting controls on the monitor itself is the usual method, unless
someone has fiddled with video card settings. Consult the monitor manual.
Chances are that the OSD (on-screen display) will graphically guide you
through the process.

Also wiggle the monitor cables gently at both ends, to be sure that they
are seated firmly.

Right click an empty area of the desktop, click Properties then click the
Settings Tab and you can change your screen size there.

.
Hi Kary
You should be able to resize your monitor from the
controls on the front of the monitor , but i would first
set up the screen in windows by right clicking in the
middle of you screen and then go to properties then
Settings , here you should see Screen resolutions select
a size that is good for you like 1152 x 864 or what ever
and pick 16 or 32 bit in the color quality , click apply
you might be asked to reboot , but you can select apply
the new display setting without restarting , hit ok
you'll get a timmer if you want to keep new settings if
the SIZE of things like icons looks good then keep new
settings and now you can go to the front panel of your
monitor and resize the screen .
hope this helps : julius
