We installed XP last fall, now I have noticed two things wrong. One, in the Control Panel under Display, I can't seem to change the color quality under the Settings tab. The only options I get are 16 and 32. Second, there is no defragment anywhere that I can find. I have tried troubleshooting but it's not helpful. Anyone have any feedback or solutions?

Normal for some drivers. I have the same, and use 32. No need for more
for most folks.
Second, there is no defragment anywhere that I can find. I have tried

solutions?

START|RUN
Type

cmd <enter>

Type

defrag <enter> to see the switch options

Or START|PROGRAMS|ACCESSORIES|SYSTEM TOOLS|Disk Defragmenter

Don't know on the color. But look under Start, accessories, system tools. WALA defrag.

The defrag program is located at;
%SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc

Thiere should be 'shortcuts/links' at these places;

'start' button / 'All Programs' / 'Accessories' / 'System Tools' > 'Disk
Defragmenter'

As to your screen colours problem, you perhaps need to update your 'Display'
drivers.
Suggest that you download the free program (link below), the program will
run from within it's own folder, thus needing no installation.
The program when run, will give a mass of information about your machine and
it's components.
Further the program will (often as not) give you a direct link to the
manufacturer of a component so that you can download the drivers for the
item (Display driver).
