Why is there two monitors? I only have one, could it be that i have a 15" crt and it cant go any higher settings but teh card can so they list it seperatley?

Its letting you knw your card is capable of using two monitors if you feel the need. Some people do for the likes of spreedsheet applications and stuff like tht. Not a problem m8 jst information ;)

so for the plug and play one why cant i set the resolution higher than 1024 x 768? is that my monitors limitations?

How old is the monitor m8? It could well be the monitors highest resolution Yes

I have had a few 15" tht could only go to 1024x768. And honestly 1 or 2 that could only go as high as 800x600 but we wont discuss those days ;)

It probably will not go any higher even with the drivers for it ... don't try it, you will end up with a black screen.

;)

Nah it doesnt allow you to set it any higher it automatically puts the settings to max. Will the monitor affect the graphics?

Yeah you are right, but it will always change back after 15 - 20seconds if he dont press apply.

Not really, it all depends if u prefer gaming in really high res modes. Personally I use 1280x1024 which is max my TFT goes but it looks brill.

I have the X800GTO and when i played GTA SA i couldnt really notice much difference between it and my old X300SE. Why do you think this is? Could it just be that GTA SA isnt that demanding and that i will notice the difference when playing better games graphically?

A good question my friend. I think tht GTA was written graphically for such a large base of systems becuase of it's popularity. It would have been futile for them to concentrate on people who had these mega rigs simply because the company would have lost money due to the fact the original game could also run on a lower spec system too. It would have meant that the fan base would have dropped because they wouldnt be able to upgrade or afford to upgrade their systems to play.

Very true, and good to hear. I just can't wait to test this bad boy out on a good game :)

I have another problem now, it allows me to change the resolution all the way now so i can go higher than 10248x768. When i load up a game the picture is too big for the screen, it doesnt all fit on it,the bottom right is cut off.

How do i fix this problem?

Its weird because before it didnt allow me to change the resolution any higher and the game worked and now it allows me to change it, the game isnt displaying properly. I havent change the resolution or anything, i have kept it the same as it was when it worked.

Well it seems to me your trying to fix a fixed problem. Use your higher res for desktop and use the 1024x768 for gaming.

By getting a new monitor designed to operate at those levels ... a 15" is designed for 800x600 ... Quad has a good article on monitors.

You'll have to resize the monitor screen using the moniters buttons to go into the OSD menu and adjusting the screen to fit. As you've increased the screen resolution in windows I think you'll find that the that the screen refresh rate has dropped giving you a oversize screen ingame.

You could click on the advanced button in the display properties then click on the monitor tab I bet the refresh is now at 60 hertz.... see if there is an higher option but don't untick 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display' as you will do some potential damage.

But it has been said already, that you are trying to go beyond what your monitor is designed for.... My advice , go back to 1024x768 increase your refresh to 75 0r 80 hertz and consider buying a TFT soon!

i have always had my resolution set at 1024x768 although the refresh rate is at 60 but i always though it was at 75? Anyway it doesnt make any difference changing it anyway.
