Having cracked the display on my inspiron, I recently bought another off of
Ebay. Although not exactly the same model, it was used in the same laptop
model with the same video card (ATI Rage Mobility P)
Having removed the old display (a LTN15P1-L01) and inserted the new one (a
LT150X2-124), both made by Samsung, The result was a grbled display on
bootup.
I tried reducing screen res from 1024x768 in steps to 640x480 and colour res
to 256 colour as well as reducing refresh rate to 60Hx and eventuall setting
hardware acelleration to "none" with no improvement.
The screen is a mass of horizontal lines and pretty (but useless) patterns!
Have tried updating the driver, but system automatically reboots every time
it gets close to opening windows.
Should this display work with this vid card / laptop and if so, is there
anything else I can do?
Thanks for help
