Hi!

If this is wrong newsgroup to ask, please advice me to a group that is
better.

My laptop Acer Ferrari 4005 does not show anything on the display anymore -
it is totally black during all boot and operation.

I have connected it to a different monitor, and than I manage to get display
occationally by pressing the blue "Fn" key + some of the blue function
keys -
but I havent found any system in how these keys work.

I have a feeling that I somehow have chosen some kind of monitor setup that
I now can't manage to reset. I have tried to unplug wall-electricity and
battery hoping that this could reset the issue - but it did not help.
I am considering to go the embarassing road of asking repair guys to look at
it :D

Is there anyone that can propose a key-sequence that will reset any odd
monitor setup that I might have set on my laptop?

you have either:
turned the device to only display on an external monitor and on my Acer that's
the F5 button
your manual should tell you if that is correct.
The backlight has burned out and needs to be replaced...Factory job

Thanks for help.
I think it is solved now; the problems seems to have been that the battery
was broken.
When I removed battery and only used wall-electricity the display worked
fine.
I have ordered a new battery now.
