How can I display MsgBox on an asp.net (aspx) page?

I tried something that is not accepted:
Function SysMsgBox(ByVal Message As String)

Response.Write("<script language=javascript>alert('" & Message &
"');</script>")

End Function

this lead to loose the page layout tell the user respond, Guys do U any
ideas?
