Display Mode Messed Up

My display mode has recently been affected in some way that permanately stays in 640x480 pixels and 16 bit color. I have tried many things, such as data recovery, safe-mode, and some other ways, but I cannot seem to fix the problem. Any help posted here is gretly appreciated.
 
Goto your video adapter manufacturers website and download the latest driver
for XP and install it. Make sure you follow the instruction that come with
it.
