DISPLAY MALFUNCTION

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2. The display on my monitor became
pixelated and colour faded so I updated my driver, but to no avail. The
problem continued and now my computer will not load up. It tries but on each
occasion it stops at the POST screen and offers to: start normally, last
known safe settings, safe mode, etc. I have tried each of the options but
then it just goes back to the POST screen. I suspect my graphics card has
become faulty and this is causing the loadup issue. However, I have 2 in SLI
mode and thought that I might just use 1 to regain a normal display. Despite
trying both cards individually the problem remains. Could it still be a
graphic card problem? If so, is it possible for both cards to become faulty
at the same time? Any advice offered will be gratefully received. My MB is
Asus M2N SLI Deluxe and I use my computer for gaming.

A couple of observations before I show you how to find a topical discussion
group.

1. You tried each of the two video cards individually, and updated drivers,
but have you tried connecting to a different monitor?

2. IMO, it is very unlikely that both of your video cards at the same time.

3. From what you say, the computer will not boot at all, correct? You might
try resetting CMOS to see if that helps.

4. If your computer still will not boot, it's time to consider main
component hardware failure, such as memory PSU and motherboard.

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here to find an appropriate

Click the + beside English. then scroll down to Windows. In the Windows
category, open the Windows XP category. Find a group there to post in.
