I installed a Windows XP Service Pack Update. After doing so all my screen seetings changed. Now all my programs on the Desktop and the data within the actual programs are very small to read. I have tried adjsuting the settings/appearance/resolution etc...... but it just affects my picture quality/screen quality to be fuzzy. I am going blind........please help

Hi Bethany,

Try to stay in the same thread, I answered you before.

Right-click on the desktop and select properties, go to the settings
tab, in 'monitor resolution,' move the slider back so it is at 800 x
600.

If still no joy, in that same tab click 'Advanced Options,' in the
General tab, in 'configuration in points por inch,' change this to 120
ppi.

Also go to Start > Programs > Accesories > Accesibility > Accesibility
assistant.

This will make the text larger, better create a restore point first,
because it is difficult to undo the changes.

Good luck

I tried these options but it does not help with the data within the programs. I am working with One Write Plus, an accounting program, which is giving me the most trouble visualy. Are you aware of anything else I may be able to do

When I try to adjust the other options you requested. I may appear to be ok for one program, but for others it becomes to large. Adjusting the resolution just makes the picture quality look horrible.

Bethany,

Do you know which update it was?
Can you find more information about it, what it is for and whether it
is critical?

You could try doing a System Restore to a point prior to the update.

Also check that you are using the latest drivers for your graphic
card. In some cases it is better to obtain the update for the drivers
from the manufacturers themselves.

Other troubleshooting option: is there a zooming feature within the
program itself (One Write Plus) that you could modify?

Good luck

I did try a System Restore and it did not help.
Dell, don't get me started, actually had me erase my entire memory and reinstall Windows XP. Upon doing so the same issue occurs. So the Update was no longer on the computer and I am almost sure the Graphics Card is Ok. I am using the NVidia Graphics Card Version 6.14.10.4482.

I checked OWP and there is not a zooming function.

Is there anything else I can do?

Hi Bethany,

If System Restore didn't work... :-\

Right-click the desktop, choose properties go to the settings tab,
choose 'advanced options' > Problem solver, in hardware acceleration,
move the slider to none. Does it work now?

Do you have any Norton software?
What about your video memory, do you have 32 or 64 MB RAM? You can
check this going to Start > Run > typing 'dxdiag' (without the
quotation marks) and looking in the screen tab.

I'm fresh out of ideas, don't know what to do short of
uninstalling/reinstalling graphic card drivers.

Good luck
