Display As problem when exporting contacts

In contrast to most of the problems I have read, I am having a problem
getting rid of the 'display as' and SMTP info when exporting email addresses
to a mail merge program. It keeps running the info together with the email
addresses after I export. Is there a way to get rid of it? I have tried
exporting into a CSV, Excel, and txt files. I am running Outlook 2003.
Thanks!

Explain more accurately what you are trying to do and how you have
contracted this merge.

I have a database that I acquired in Excel CSV format, then imported it into
Outlook 2003. I then export the contacts that I need into a tab separated
..txt file into a mail merge program called Worldmerge. The exported data
looks like this:

(e-mail address removed)<[email protected]>

As you can see, this is not usable as an email address. I have tried to
export in .pst, .txt., .xls, .csv format and they all look the same. That
leads me to believe that it is the Outlook settings that are wrong.

Let me know if there is anything else I am leaving out.

Thx!

I doubt the Outlook settings are wrong.
I suspect your field mapping for the export is.
You still did not provide the information on how you constructed the export.
In what format are your email addresses and where do they reside?
