display adapter problem?

I have a computer that was brought into my office that I
want to setup. It has Windows 2000 Professional.
Something is pretty strange though. The display only has
the two lowest resolution settings as options and only the
16 color option causing a horrible display. I don't know
what's causing this problem and Windows update doesn't
find any drivers. My display adapter is listed as Matrox
G400/G450 DualHead and is working properly. I do have a
couple unknown devices that are missing drivers and one of
them says VGA compatible so I think that may be part of
it, but I don't know how to find drivers for it. If
anyone knows what I should be doing to fix this, it'd be
of much help. Thanks.

vga compatable is the standard default when you don't have
the video adapter drivers installed.
You won't find the video drivers on windows update
you will have to go to the manufactors website and
download them, then update the video card drivers.
